Pick of the day #49: Maccabi Tel Aviv – Hapoel Tel Aviv

April 6, 2013

Big derby game today and the fans are up for it!

Maccabi Tel Aviv are in a good run with four wins and one draw in their last five games. In three of these four wins they have gone over the -1.5 line. If they win tonight the title race is practically over. Maccabi do not have a long injury list. Radi is very doubtful, but Alberman seems to be fit enough.

Hapoel Tel Aviv have come back lately after a bad run. Now they have three straight league wins, but without impressing much (two 1-0 away wins against Ironi Kiryat Shmona and Ironi Ramat Hasharon, and in their last game they got 2-1 against  Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv). I haven’t found any team news for Hapoel.

The teams have met twice this season. In the last game in February Maccabi won with 4-0 after an impressive performance. In November Hapoel managed to win with 1-0.

Rade Prica reckons Maccabi have at least a 65% chance of a win, and with those numbers I think 2.46 for Maccabi -1 is very good.

Maccabi had fun at training yesterday.
