Pick of the day #19: Dortmund – Nürnberg

January 24, 2013

Borussia Dortmund are usually strong already in the first half of their games. I was first going for the Asian handicap -1 in half time here, but then I discovered that Unibet pays 1.75 for Dortmund to be ahead in half time and win in full time. That is way above the other bookies (THEY PAY JUST ABOVE 1.50 FOR THE SAME BET) and if you hurry up you may have a chance to place a bet to a too high price.

Dortmund started up after the winter break with an impressive 0-5 win away to Werder Bremen (0-3 in half time). Nuri Sahin is back in the team and got a couple of minutes in that game. Dortmund are believed to have the same players available as in their last game.

Nürnberg have got a new head coach during the winter break. Michael Wiesinger’s first game ended up in a 1-1 draw at home to Hamburger SV. They have no known new injuries or suspensions. Swedish defender Per Nilsson was out in the last game but is expected to return, which will probably make Timmy Simons to return to his midfield position. Wiesinger surprised by letting Hiroshi Kiyotake out in the last game, but he is said to return to the starting eleven. Goalkeeper Raphael Schäfer broke his nose in the match against Hamburger SV, but has undergone a surgery and is said to be ready for the game.

Dortmund home stats: Full time: 4-2-2 (17-8). Half time: 5-1-2 (10-4).

Nürnberg away stats: Full time: 2-2-5 (7-14). Half time: 1-4-4 (3-7).
