Pick of the day #40: Real Madrid – Ajax

December 4, 2012

Real Madrid have qualified for the next round, but will take this match rather seriously since they still have a chance to finish first in the group. They will play many of their first team regulars here and will manage to score at least one goal (probably more). Among the players who will start are for example Ronaldo and Benzema. However, they will rest some of their defensive players. Ramos and Alonso will be sitting out to avoid yellow cards that would have prevented them from playing the first knock-out game. Arbeloa is out due to suspension.

Ajax will try to go for the win to secure a spot in the Europa League. They have a strong offensive side and have scored in 21 out of 23 competitive games this season. In their last game the defeated PSV Eindoven (3-1).

The odds for both teams to score is very high at Nordicbet (1.72). At Bwin, Bet365, and Unibet for example the same bet is priced at 1.65, 1.61, and 1.55, respectively. I would have put it around 1.55 and find great value in 1.72.
