Pick of the day #31: Ingolstadt & Copenhagen
As indicated in my earlier post I go for two pick(s) of the day today. My first was a corner bet in PSV-Vitesse. The second is a double that should not fail…
The first game is FC Ingolstadt 04 at home to SV Sandhausen. Ingolstadt have started the season well. They sit 5th in German Bundesliga 2 with six wins, five draws, and three losses (19-16 in goals). At home they have 3-2-2 (11-10). Last game they lost away to top contenders Eintracht Braunschweig (3-0 in a game that actually wasn’t that bad according to coach Tomas Oral), but before that they have shown good form with six games without loosing. I think they will be back at the winning track here against a struggling Sandhausen.
Sandhausen sit in the very bottom of the table with 2-3-9 (13-32). Away from home they have 0-1-6 (6-20). They have six straight losses and have conceded eleven goals in their last two games! SV Sandhausen have sacked their coach Gerd Dais before this game and have appointed Hans-Jürgen Boysen who has been at Sandhausen in two spells earlier (1994-1996 and 2001-2002).
Midfielder Ümit Korkmaz is out for the home team after an injury. The starting eleven for the away team will probably change due to the new manager. Let us just hope he hasn’t improved the team tremendously already.
The second pick in the double is FC Copenhagen (FCK) away to Sønderjyske. FCK is the big team in Scandinavian football and should beat Sønderjyske, a team with deep problems at home. They are placed 9th (of twelve teams) in the Danish Superliga with 5-2-10 (23-36). At home they have been awful with 1-1-7 (11-20). Against FCK they should not stand a chance. FCK top the league with 11-5-1 (38-15). Away from home they have 3-4-1 (13-10). However, they only got 1-1 against Sønderjyske earlier in the season. Their form has improved much since then though and they have also beaten Sønderjyske with 3-0 in the cup.
A thing that concerns me more is that FCK have had many games recently and some players might start to become fatigued. The squad should be strong enough to handle that though. Nicolai Jørgensen is certainly out here, which is also the case for Johan Wiland and Igor Vetokele who have been out for a while. Four players are out for Sønderjyske.
