Pick of the day #14: Anzhi – Liverpool

November 8, 2012

The pick last night was embarrassing. I had five bets yesterday, four went in, but the pick of the day failed. Sorry about that. The other picks I had were B Munich (AH -2 @1.97), Chelsea – Shakhtar BTTS, Cluj-Galatasaray BTTS, and Man United over 1.5 goals. Of course I should have stick to my original thought yesterday and picked Bayern Munich as the pick of the day. Today I will update this post if and when I put in more bets than today’s best pick of the day.

Anzhi will host Liverpool FC today. Liverpool send a young and unexperienced squad to the game and I can’t see Anzhi miss the opportunity to win with a couple of goals. Anzhi seem to play with their best possible team, whereas Liverpool rest players. The following players haven’t even made the journey:

Joe Allen, Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger, Pepe Reina , Jose Enrique, Glen Johnson, Raheem Sterling, Martin Skrtel, and Nuri Sahin.

The odds for an Anzhi win is going down at the moment, but there are still great value in all type of bets. I choose the Asian Handicap -1 bet to incredible 2.51 at Pinnacle.

Liverpool squad in full: Jones, Gulacsi, Cole, Assaidi, Pacheco, Henderson, Coates, Downing, Wilson, Carragher, Suso, Shelvey, Coady, Yesil, Flanagan, Wisdom, Robinson, Morgan, Sama.

UPDATED PICKS:  Anzhi is by far the best pick today, but I have also put in some money on:

  • Athletic Bilbao – Lyon. Over 10.5 corners @1.825 (Bet365). 4/10 units. Result: 7-4 => Win.
  • Udinese – Young Boys. AH Udinese -1 @2.14 (Pinnacle). 4/10 units. Result: 2-3 => Loss.
  • AIK – PSV: Over 5 corners first half (Asian) @1.975 (Bet365). 3/10 units. Result: 1-3 in corners => Loss.

Steven Gerrard is one of the players that stay in England.

Game:  Anzhi – Liverpool

Bet:  Asian Handicap -1: Anzhi

Odds: 2.51 (Pinnacle)

Value: 8/10 units

Result: 1-0, +0 units

Units in total: +10.04

Total wins-voids-losses: 8-1-5

    Pinnacle now pays 2.67 for your bet. Do you know why?

    • Sorry about the late reply, but I’ve heard about late big money invested from Asia in Liverpool’s games earlier in the season.
